This is the official promo video for the Japanese release of You Should Know By Now , the second single to be released from the first Ouch! album Life Goes On . The year was 1994 and this was the height of Ouch!’s success in Japan. During that year, both this and Can’t Stop Looking At You topped Japanese charts. A few months later, Ouch! completed their first far east tour. Live gigs were supplemented by acoustic TV and radio sessions, showcasing the 4-part harmony vocals, for which the band were hailed. The band guested at Tokyo’s very own Cavern, a homage to the Liverpool venue made famous by the Beatles, and the Japanese press concluded that lead singer Kevin Taylor was “the nearest living thing to John Lennon”, quite an accolade!
Testimonials
"I’m privileged to have worked with Jon on tour in 2016. His skill on the bass and his vocal talent are exemplary and his work ethic is incredible. He’s earned my respect both as a musician and a person."
Eddie Allen, Guitarist - Marty Wilde and The Wildcats. Ex Editor Guitarist Magazine.
"Apart from being a genuinely lovely guy he is also a top bass man. Check out the JENNER, MELLOR rhythm section on the last OUCH album MEDWAY DOG..".
Clive Jenner, drummer - Groove Armada, Lenny Kravitz, The Proclaimmers, The Freestylers
"First and foremost Jon is an excellent bass player with a superb knack for writing lyrical, melodic bass lines for original material. If you’re playing covers, Jon is not only a quick learner – but more importantly when the parts have entered his mind they stay there and will be delivered consistently at any time under any circumstance."
Preben Raunsbjerg, Producer and guiatrist - James Burton's band
"His bass playing and harmonies are second to none in all the different styles of music that we covered and he is the most honest and hardworking bloke I have ever worked with.”
Kevin Taylor, Ouch!
