Between 2000 and 2009, Bulldog were one of the busiest duos in South East England. But the act also performed all over the UK and Germany. Bulldog actually began as a semi-acoustic trio, with Kevin Taylor on vocals and guitar, Jon on bass and vocals and Clive Jenner on percussion and vocals. But when Clive joined Groove Armada , the resi-duo decided to replace him with backing tracks! Renowned for their vocal harmonies and the incredible variety of their repetoire, Bulldog drew from a song list of over 200 tracks, including the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Madness, ELO, Smokey Robinson, The Jacksons, Franz Ferdinand, Wham, Rolling Stones, The Temptations, Bob Marley, Barry Manilow, T-Rex, Elvis(Presley & Costello), Stevie Wonder and Amy Winehouse? The duo only split in 2009 when Jon relocated to Melbourne.

I worked with Jon for over twenty years, first of all in our band Ouch, then in an acoustic trio and finally in a duo and I can honestly say that I have never met anyone so dedicated and passionate about music. His bass playing and harmonies are second to none in all the different styles of music that we covered including pop, reggae, ska and rock and he is also the most honest and hardworking bloke I have ever worked with. My only regret is that he moved to Australia, otherwise we would still be playing together .”
